A stunning cosy campsite set in an idyllic valley just off the South Downs Way below Firle Beacon. Quiet and family friendly with hot showers and super clean compost loos. Hot food served every Friday night (optional) and complimentary hot water bottles and free tea and coffee available daily. Ideal for all walkers, cyclists and families alike.
Woodfire at Firle is the newest little sister to our flagship site, itself set in the foothills of the South Downs at Graffham, West Sussex. The East Sussex Firle site has a very different feel to its elder sibling being smaller and more intimate and dare we say it, just a bit more remote.
Woodfire was established in 2017 by avid campers Griff and Stella and their two boys and was born out of a desire to offer something just that little bit different and to go that extra mile and 'host' it's campers.
The new site at Firle is our second and newest campsite and is set in a gorgeous semi-wooded valley below Firle Beacon. We have built brand new timber framed hot showers and beautiful compost loos with all the trimmings our campers have come to expect from Woodfire. Your host Dave will stop at nothing to offer you the best possible stay with us. He and his partner Rozie will be on hand every Friday night to serve up hot stew and freshly cooked flat breads should you wish to opt in.
There are complimentary hot water bottles and morning coffee fresh from our Italian bialetti percolator available daily.
Obviously Woodfire wouldn't be Woodfire without, we'll, a wood fire (d'uh) so we have ample firepits available for rent and a brimming log store with properly seasoned Ash and Birch logs (coppiced locally) available for sale.
A good night's sleep is crucially important after your long days cycling or walking (Dave should know, he's done Land's End to John o'Groats) and we ask everyone to abide by our 10.30pm noise curfew. If you can be heard by the next pitch then its too loud.
If this sounds like your ideal site and you're exploring the South Downs National Park then why not give us a try.
